Our Design Process
A seamless, collaborative journey—designed to take your project from concept to completion with intention and precision.
1. The Consultation – Vision & Discovery
We begin with an in-depth conversation to understand your project, design goals, challenges, and expectations. This step ensures full alignment before we move forward.
2. The Plan – Strategy & Space Planning
We develop a preliminary space plan and outline a project timeline, setting the foundation for design direction, functionality, and flow.
3. The Design – Design Development
Grimestone begins crafting a full design plan, including materials, finishes, furnishings, and key visual elements that bring your concept to life.
4. The Presentation – Digital Design Reveal
We present the complete design package—featuring drawings, material selections, and supporting visuals or samples to help you fully imagine the space.
5. The Approval – Feedback & Finalization
You review the design and provide feedback or revisions. Once approved, the design phase is officially complete, and we move into technical development.
6. The Drawings – Technical Documentation
Grimestone prepares detailed Interior Design Working Drawings, including:
Floor Plans (Demo, Construction, Finish Plans)
Electrical & Lighting Plans
Elevations & Finish Schedules
7. The Plan Check – Team Review & Coordination
The finalized drawings are reviewed by the client, contractor, and trade professionals to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and alignment across all teams.
8. The Construction – The Build Begins
Your selected construction team brings the design to life. Grimestone remains available for design clarification and coordination as needed.
9. The Installation – Furnishings & Styling
Once construction is complete, our team installs all furnishings and decorative elements—placing every item with purpose and precision.
10. The Fine Tune – Final Styling & Photography
We perfect the space—styling, adjusting, and refining every detail to make it magazine- and Instagram-ready. A professional photoshoot is scheduled to capture the finished design.
